When crawling the junkyard and you find a 1st generation Lumina with a perfect set of reverse lights
You buy those lights, and then you buy battery powered micro LED Christmas lights on clearance and boom office art

That is the kind of art I can appreciate.

I did the exact same in my 88 Fox for many years. Then I ran a tape adapter to my first iPod in my 01 Golf. Now I’m playing Spotify through a BT speaker that sits on the dashboard of my 03 Odyssey. Do you see a pattern here?

Junkyard tragedy - you're looking for a set of reverse lights for your mint condition lumina. You see a perfect example the one time you forget your toolbox at home. You come back and they're gone. Then you see some git on the internet has turned it into a desk ornament.

Finding one of those undamaged in the Junkyard would be the Holy Grail for my stack of crap decoration style

Actually it was held in place with large plastic wing nuts, no tools needed to remove.

I use an old headset cord with a microphone
on it and a bayonet plug on each end
into the Aux port on my Dodge Ram for the most hack job handsfree set up ever.

What's the anti-skip on that? My Aiwa had 45 seconds, no big deal.

Mine was black, with like 3 second ESP...
Much later I got a no-name one that played MP3 CDs (700MB of storage was way better than the 64MB on my other MP3 player)

My grandma had a ’91 Lumina very much like that. She kept it until 2008 when she traded it in, with 41k miles on it at the time, for a Pontiac G8. She chose the G8 from among various other GM midsize sedans because, in her words, “it was the most simple, ” referring to the dash layout and switchgear.
The first time I drove her around in that car, I turned on the headlights, only to find that the brights had been left on.

Everything is worth what its purchaser will pay for it...
But yeah, I’d guess you’d do better with a $30 MP3 CD player (I was shocked to learn that GPX still existed, at least in name)

I’ve thought of this before, but didn’t know how to handle the lighting. This is giving me ideas ...

My father had a ’93, which I drove a few times. I didn’t hate it , but it wasn’t something that I ever thought I would miss. Looking back on it now , the first-gen Lumina really did have some nice sleek styling. And fantastic visibility all around. If there’s one thing I dislike about the car, it’s thos e passive in-door seatbelts.
